The best way to fill a need in a country is to pull from the resources of that country. Our 27 wonderful volunteers who just returned from Kenya, did just that. The team saw a need for some children at Hope Academy who needed new shoes and others that needed new cleats. New cleats? Yes. Many times, new cleats can mean the difference between kids being able to play soccer and thus staying off the streets or not. After recognizing the need, the team went into the local market and bought new shoes and cleats. This then stimulates the local economy and compels the community to welcome our teams instead of loathing them for flooding the local markets with free stuff from home.
